Difference Between Transactional And Traditional Email Marketing
What is the Difference Between Transactional And Traditional Email Marketing ?
Email marketing is the use of email services to send and advertise messages. Online marketers have taken advantage of emails since it’s one of the quickest, easiest and inexpensive ways to reach their prospects.
There are two types of emails in email marketing: transactional emails and traditional emails. What is the difference between these two?
- Transactional emails result from an action taken by user. Once the action is done, a transactional email is sent to the user such as a thank you message or welcome message. A traditional email is sent out to your email list in bulk regardless of an existing of an action or not.
- Transactional emails are not entirely financial in nature. There are transactional emails however that send out invoice letters, order confirmations and account balances but it’s not always the case. Traditional emails do not send out financial emails since it will be hard to track since they are sent to more than one user at the same time.
- Transactional emails are also called “personal” emails since they are sent to specific users. Traditional emails are more “bulk” in nature and sent out in large quantities.
- Transactional emails are more likely to end up in the inbox of the user. In order to avoid getting blocked, these webmasters make sure that their email reputation is on par with the standard of email services. Traditional emails can send various types of emails to addresses in their list such as auto-responder emails. The problem with traditional emails is sometimes they’d end up in the spam folder depending on the nature and content.
Both traditional and transactional emails can be used in email marketing. Are your emails more personal in nature? Or does it have a more “generic” content? The type of email marketing you choose depends entirely on what audience you are targeting and the content of your emails.
